Security forces successfully eliminated nine terrorists, including two suicide bombers and a key militant leader, during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Bajaur district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on the night of October 23-24, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The operation targeted high-value terrorist leader Said Muhammad, also known as “Qureshi Ustad,” who was killed in a fierce exchange of gunfire. The militants had been involved in various attacks against security forces and civilians.
During the operation, the security forces recovered a large stockpile of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the terrorists. Efforts to clear the area of any remaining threats are ongoing.
This operation is part of broader efforts by the security forces and law enforcement agencies to combat the rising threat of terrorism in the country. In recent months, there has been an increase in terrorist activities, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The ISPR reiterated the military’s commitment to eliminating terrorism and ensuring peace in the region.
