Michael Jackson Biopic Starring Nephew Jaafar Jackson Gets Release Date
Lionsgate has confirmed the release date for the much-anticipated Michael Jackson biopic, titled “Michael.” The film, featuring Jaafar Jackson, the late King of Pop’s nephew, in the lead role, is set to hit screens on April 18, 2025.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, the biographical musical drama will cover Michael Jackson’s four-decade career and life journey. While the film promises an honest portrayal of the iconic artist, it remains uncertain whether it will delve into controversial aspects, such as allegations of child sexual abuse.
Lionsgate described the movie as offering audiences a “riveting and honest portrayal” of Michael Jackson, showcasing both his personal struggles and creative genius on an epic scale. Despite a delay in production due to the SAG-AFTRA strike in 2023, main photography for “Michael” is now scheduled to commence on January 22.
