A terrible accident happened early Friday morning in the mountains of Pakistan.
A bus carrying at least 38 people was traveling from Rawalpindi to Gilgit when it went off the road and crashed down a steep slope.
Sadly, at least 20 people were killed, including 3 women. Many others were hurt in the crash.
Rescue workers rushed to the scene, including helicopters from the army. They worked hard to help the injured and transport them to a hospital in Chilas. Some of the injured are in serious condition, and two have been taken to a bigger hospital in Gilgit for further care.
Local officials are investigating the cause of the crash. They believe it may have been caused by the bus going too fast or the driver making a difficult turn on the narrow mountain road.
This is a very sad event, and many people are sending their condolences to the families of those who died. The Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan have both offered their support and asked that everything possible be done to help the injured.
