A case about the alleged killing of former MPA Chaudhry Adnan in Rawalpindi has been registered at the Civil Lines police station.
Chaudhry Adnan’s brother-in-law, Chaudhry Nadeem Iqbal, filed the case, revealing a complicated mix of political and business tensions related to the incident.
In the complaint, it was mentioned that Chaudhry Adnan had political conflicts with individuals like Chaudhry Tanveer, Chaudhry Daniyal, Chaudhry Changez, and Chaudhry Osama. He also had legal disputes with Luqman Kamil regarding business and land transactions.
The complaint highlighted Chaudhry Adnan’s concerns for his safety, stating that he felt his life was at risk from the mentioned individuals. He explicitly mentioned that if any harm came to him, those he identified should be held responsible.
On the day of the incident, Chaudhry Adnan attended a meeting about land matters. While returning, his vehicle stopped at a traffic signal, where two attackers on a motorcycle shot at him. After the attack, the assailants quickly escaped, leaving shock and grief behind. Now, authorities are faced with the challenge of unraveling the complexities of the case, understanding motives, and finding those responsible for the crime.
Adnan was tragically killed in Rawalpindi on Monday. Unidentified attackers shot him near the city’s Police Lines while his car was stopped at a traffic signal. He was taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The police are actively investigating to catch the assailant and bring them to justice.
Chaudhry Adnan recently participated in the general elections as an independent candidate for NA-57 Rawalpindi and PP-19. In NA-57, he got 1,820 votes, and in PP-19, he received 2,972 votes. Adnan served as an MPA from 2018 to 2023 under the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ticket.
