A court has granted bail to Sheikh Rashid Ahmed in the May 9 riots case. The decision was made after he filed a bail plea, with a surety bond of Rs200,000.
The court ordered his release, and he was released from Adiala jail in Rawalpindi.
Sheikh Rashid, who lost in the February 8 general elections, faced a case related to the May 9 violence triggered by the arrest of Imran Khan.
The court had earlier rejected the police’s request for his physical remand in three cases during a hearing held on Tuesday.
