A woman in Agra, India, has initiated divorce proceedings against her husband due to her mother-in-law using her makeup without consent, as reported by India Today.
The woman, along with her sister, hailing from Malpura, had married two brothers eight months ago. Trouble began when the woman discovered her mother-in-law consistently using her makeup, leading to a confrontation. Subsequently, her husband allegedly kicked both her and her sister out of the house.
The woman shared her grievances with the family counseling center of the Agra police, recounting that everything was fine until the makeup dispute arose. She claimed that her makeup would be depleted whenever she needed it for events due to her mother-in-law using it without permission. Additionally, the woman reported that her mother-in-law would dress up and apply makeup inside the house.
The woman approached the Malpura Police Station, stating that her attempt to address the issue with her mother-in-law resulted in a verbal altercation. When she informed her son about the dispute, he allegedly abused her, leading to their expulsion from the house.
Living at their maternal home for two months, the sisters sought resolution at the Parivar Paramarsh Kendra during counseling on Sunday. However, counselor Amit Gaur revealed that the woman is determined to pursue a divorce, viewing the matter as evolving beyond makeup usage into a case of domestic abuse.
