ISLAMABAD: Ambreen Jan has been appointed as the new Secretary of Information and Broadcasting, according to a federal government notification issued on Friday.
Ambreen Jan, previously serving as the Executive Director General of the External Publicity Wing at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, will take over the role immediately. She succeeds Shahira Shahid, who retired on July 25.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif interviewed four candidates for the position, including Sayyed Mubashar Tauqir Shah, Arshad Munir, and Shamoon Hashmi, before selecting Jan for the post.
