Arrest warrants issued for Khawar Maneka and his son in a land grab case

Special Judge Asif Bashir directed the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Okara to arrest Khawar Maneka and his son and present them in court on July 9.

Maneka and his son had been summoned on June 7 and again on June 12 but failed to appear, prompting the judge to issue non-bailable arrest warrants. Maneka and his sons, Musa and Ibrahim, were indicted in corruption cases based on a reference from the Okara deputy commissioner filed on August 23, 2023.

According to the prosecution, Maneka allegedly constructed 26 shops and a marriage hall illegally on land designated for Pir Islam Graveyard without map approval, generating Rs26 million in untaxed rent. The FIR charges include criminal breach of trust, cheating, forgery, and using forged documents. Additionally, revenue, auqaf, and excise department officials allegedly aided Maneka in the land grab, valued at Rs100 million. Despite attempting to flee the country, Maneka was arrested at Lahore airport by the Federal Investigative Agency (FIA), listed on the no-fly list, and subsequently handed over to ACE Okara, which issued his arrest warrant on September 14, 2023.
