Biden Highlights Strong US-Pakistan Partnership in Global Challenges

WASHINGTON: US President Joe Biden emphasized the importance of US-Pakistan cooperation in maintaining regional stability and security. He made these remarks during a ceremony at Blair House where Pakistan’s new Ambassador, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, presented his credentials.

President Biden expressed appreciation for the long-standing partnership between the two nations, particularly in combating terrorism. He noted that the relationship has grown over more than 75 years, underscoring its role in addressing global threats.

The ceremony was attended by diplomats and senior US officials, reflecting the importance of the event.

Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh conveyed greetings from Pakistan’s leadership and highlighted the strong ties between the two countries. He pointed out key areas of cooperation, including climate change, energy, health, trade, and investment.

Sheikh also noted that the US remains the largest market for Pakistani exports and expressed Pakistan’s desire to strengthen trade and attract US investments in areas like green energy and education.

Biden reaffirmed the importance of continued dialogue on both security and non-security matters to further strengthen the relationship. He looked forward to working with Ambassador Sheikh to advance shared goals and deepen US-Pakistan ties.
