Biden Withdraws from Presidential Race, Endorses Kamala Harris

US President Joe Biden has withdrawn from the 2024 presidential race, endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee. Biden’s decision comes after weeks of increasing pressure from within his party, with members expressing doubts about his ability to defeat former President Donald Trump.

Biden, the oldest sitting president in US history, faced calls from over 30 Congress members and influential figures like former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to step down. In his announcement on social media, Biden stated:

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. While I intended to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and focus on my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”

This significant development reshapes the Democratic Party’s strategy as they prepare for the upcoming election.
