This year’s Cannes Film Festival begins on Tuesday, and it promises to be filled with excitement both on and off the screen.
The festival lineup includes highly anticipated films like Francis Ford Coppola’s self-funded project, “Megalopolis,” and “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” a prequel to the popular “Mad Max” series. George Miller returns to direct, with Anya Taylor-Joy starring as a young Imperator Furiosa.

There are rumors of sexual abuse allegations against actors and filmmakers, and festival workers are threatening to strike over proposed changes to labor laws. Additionally, Iranian director Mohammad Rasoulof, sentenced to jail in his home country, has secretly left Iran to attend the premiere of his film, “The Seed of the Sacred Fig,” at Cannes.
Despite these challenges, Cannes remains an exciting showcase of international cinema, with celebrities, directors, and film enthusiasts coming together to celebrate the art of filmmaking.
