ISLAMABAD – A couple from Hangu was murdered in Islamabad on Wednesday for marrying out of love.
The incident took place in Pind Parian village within the Tarnol police station area. The victims, identified as Mardana Bibi and Shoaib, had married by choice, angering their families.
They sought refuge in Islamabad, but the suspects tracked them down. Using a sharp-edged weapon, the suspects killed the couple and fled the scene. The bodies have been moved to a hospital for further procedures.
SSP Operations Arslan Shah stated that the suspects would be arrested soon.
In June, two sisters were also killed by their father, brother, and other relatives for marrying by choice. This incident occurred in Pull 19/WB village in the Machhiwal police station area of Vehari district. The sisters had been brought back home through a panchayat before being murdered.
