Dr. Turab Hussain is now the Principal of Aitchison College.

Dr. SM Turab Hussain has been appointed as the new principal of Aitchison College after the controversial resignation of the previous principal, Michael A. Thompson.

The appointment was made by Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider and confirmed by the Board of Governors. Dr. Hussain, who previously served as an associate professor at the Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School, fills the position that had been vacant for two months.

Michael A. Thompson resigned from his role as principal due to interference from the Governor’s House in the college’s management. He specifically objected to a decision by the former governor, Balighur Rehman, who granted a three-year leave of absence and a full fee waiver to the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Ahad Cheema.

Despite being asked to reconsider his resignation, Thompson decided to step down. Dr. Hussain’s appointment is expected to bring stability and continued excellence to Aitchison College.
