Dutch bike racer Olav Kooij is out of the Giro d’Italia race.

Sad news for cycling fans! Dutch racer Olav Kooij, who just won a stage in the big Giro d’Italia race on Sunday, had to drop out because he got sick after a rest day.

He’s only 22 years old and this was his first win in a major race.

Kooij’s team, Visma, is already having a tough time. Their leader, Wout Van Aert, couldn’t even start because of an injury, and two other riders crashed out earlier in the race.

The race goes on though! The next stage is hilly and 142km long, starting in Pompeii and finishing in Cusano Mutri. Right now, Slovenian rider Tadej Pogacar is way ahead in the overall standings, with a big lead over riders from Colombia and Wales.
