Swabi Police Station blast

SWABI: A tragic explosion at a police station in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Swabi district has resulted in one death and 18 injuries, according to Commissioner Mardan Division Javed Marwat.

Initial reports suggest that the blast occurred due to a “short circuit” inside the police station’s depot on the first floor. The explosion caused a fire in the building, which was quickly extinguished by rescue and firefighting teams who arrived at the scene.

The injured were promptly taken to Bacha Khan Medical Complex, where emergency measures were implemented. District Police Officer (DPO) Haroon Rashid reported that a total of 33 individuals, including 15 policemen, were transported to various hospitals for treatment.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has ordered the inspector general and chief secretary to visit the site and provide a report on the incident. He emphasized the need for immediate medical assistance for those injured.

Dr. Asif, medical superintendent at the District Headquarters Hospital, confirmed that 26 of the injured were brought to their facility, while BKMC spokesperson Raham Khan reported that eight people were receiving care there.
