Gandapur’s Brother Files Rs500 Million Defamation Lawsuit Against KP Governor

PESHAWAR: Faisal Amin, brother of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, has filed a Rs500 million defamation lawsuit against Governor Faisal Karim Kundi. The case was filed after the governor accused him and the chief minister of corruption, as reported by ARY News.

The legal suit was filed in a district court after Governor Kundi failed to respond to a legal notice demanding an apology and compensation. Faisal Amin claimed that Kundi’s corruption allegations, made during a TV show, damaged his reputation and aimed to harm his political career.

Previously, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had also sent a defamation notice to Governor Kundi, demanding a retraction of a statement regarding Operation Istehkam Pakistan. The notice threatened further legal action if the governor didn’t issue an apology and retract his claims.

Tensions between the two political figures escalated after Gandapur threatened to take over the Governor’s House if governor’s rule was imposed in the province. Kundi responded, stating he would know how to defend the Governor’s House if such an event occurred.
