Gordan Cormier, the star of ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender,’ goes back home before the release.

Gordan Cormier, the star from ‘The Last Airbender,’ came back to the Philippines, his homeland, to promote his eagerly awaited Netflix series.

In a press conference in Bonifacio Global City on Wednesday, as reported by GMA News, the Filipino-Canadian actor shared that he’s enjoying his time in the country. “I’m back in my homeland. It’s nice to be back home,” he happily expressed to the media.

Cormier, who is 15 years old, mentioned that he hadn’t been able to visit the Philippines as much as he would have liked due to the recent pandemic. “I haven’t been here in a while because of COVID-19… [Now] I get to see my family. It’s incredible,” he added.

For those not familiar, the cast of the live-action film adaptation of the Nickelodeon animated series, led by Cormier as Aang, was revealed by the video streaming platform in 2021. The Netflix release date for ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ was announced three years later and is set for February 22.

The beloved series, set to premiere this week, follows the story of a young avatar learning to master the four natural elements – Water, Fire, Earth, and Air – to maintain balance in a world about to face the menacing Fire Nation. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release to see how the live-action adaptation brings this epic tale to life.
