HEC warns against two-year BA and MA programs.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has reminded everyone that two-year BA, BSc, MA, and MSc degrees are no longer valid.

These degrees do not match the four-year bachelor’s or MS programs in value and credit hours.

The HEC has been phasing out these two-year programs since 2019, with a final deadline of June 30, 2022. Some institutions have ignored this and continued to offer these outdated degrees. The HEC made it clear that any degrees awarded after the deadline will not be recognized or certified.

The HEC also stated that institutions offering these discontinued programs are not affiliated with the official educational system, making their degrees invalid. Students and parents are urged to avoid these programs and check the recognition status of institutions before enrolling.

Getting degrees from unrecognized programs can harm students’ academic and professional futures. For a list of HEC-recognized institutions, visit the HEC website.
