Iddat case complainant Khawar Maneka attacked outside Islamabad court.

The court put off deciding on a case involving the PTI founder and his wife’s conviction in the iddat case, the last of several verdicts before the elections.

Judge Shahrukh Arjumand decided not to give the verdict and wanted the case moved elsewhere after Khawar Fareed Maneka, Bushra Bibi’s ex-husband, accused him of favoring the PTI.

In a video, Maneka was seen being pushed outside the court, leading to criticism of the trial’s fairness.

The judge began hearing the case in February but postponed the decision when Maneka’s lawyer didn’t show up for the last hearing. The case concerns Imran and Bushra Bibi’s marriage during her iddat period, for which they were sentenced to seven years in jail.

This judgment flashed criticism for its impact on women’s rights, prompting Imran Khan to plan complaints against the judges.

The judge wrote to the court asking for the case to be moved due to Maneka’s distrust. He mentioned delays caused by Maneka’s lawyer and highlighted the legal complexities around nikah during iddat. Despite attempts to stop the proceedings, the court continued, considering the marriage irregular but not void.
