IG Islamabad to Take Action Against PTI Rally Organizers for NOC Violations

The Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad, Ali Nasir Rizvi, announced legal action against the organizers of a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally in Sangjani. The rally, which was supposed to end by 7pm, violated the no-objection certificate (NOC) and exceeded its scheduled time.

The rally also breached its designated route at Chongi No. 26, causing clashes with law enforcement. The police had to use tear gas to control the situation, which led to injuries among officers, including SSP Safe City Shoaib Khan and three constables. Additional police forces were called in to manage the unrest.

The District Magistrate had earlier warned PTI to follow the NOC guidelines, which required the venue to be vacated by 7pm. Despite these warnings, the rally continued, resulting in stone-throwing by participants and a response from the police.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has taken notice of the incident and requested a report from IG Islamabad. He has also instructed that the injured officers receive top-quality medical treatment.
