IHC Protects Sanam Javed from Arrest Until July 18

ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ruled that PTI activist Sanam Javed cannot be arrested in any case until July 18. Justice Miagul Hassan Aurangzeb issued the order following a petition from Javed’s father against her detention.

The court warned that this protection would be revoked if Sanam makes any controversial statements during this period. Additionally, she has been directed to remain within Islamabad’s limits until July 18.

Sanam was represented by her lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq, during the hearing. Officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Balochistan police, along with Islamabad Police IGP Ali Nasir Rizvi, were present in the court.

The Islamabad advocate general informed the court that the Balochistan police had sought a transit remand to transfer Sanam to Balochistan. In response, Justice Aurangzeb requested a one-year record of cases filed against Sanam, who was arrested during the crackdown following the May 9 riots.
