Imran Khan and his wife Bushra have been sentenced to a 14-year prison term in the Toshakhana reference case.

Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir has verbally declared a brief verdict, resulting in the disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan for a period of 10 years.

The court has ruled that Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, will serve 14 years of rigorous imprisonment each.

This decision stems from the Toshakhana reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Making prison sentences, the court has imposed a substantial fine of Rs1.5 billion on the couple.

As part of the judgment, Imran Khan, the former prime minister, is barred from holding any public office for a duration of 10 years.

The Toshakhana case revolves around alleged financial irregularities and mismanagement, and the verdict represents a significant development in the ongoing legal proceedings.
