“After being excluded from the electoral process, Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), expressed his openness to dialogue on Friday.
Despite facing setbacks, including incarceration and the loss of the party’s electoral symbol, Khan, speaking from Adiala jail, stated that he has been willing to engage in discussions for the past 19 months.
Facing challenges, PTI’s major rivals, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), have begun nationwide campaigns, while Khan acknowledged the formation of a “controlled parliament” and expressed regret over accepting a weak government.
He emphasized the need for a strong government to address economic challenges. With the general elections approaching on February 8, Khan’s hopes to contest suffered a blow when the Lahore High Court rejected his appeal against the rejection of nomination papers.”
