Imran Khan will use a video call today to present his arguments in the NAB amendments case.

A hearing is scheduled for 11:30 am today to discuss an appeal against the Supreme Court’s decision on changes to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) laws.

This is important because former Prime Minister Imran Khan, a key figure in the case, will present his arguments.

The appeal was accepted by the Supreme Court, led by former Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial. This appeal challenged amendments made to the NAB laws by the previous government. The federal government quickly filed a counter-appeal under the Supreme Court’s rules. The first hearing for this appeal was held last October, and the second was just two days ago.

In response to the Supreme Court’s inquiry about his intentions, Imran Khan expressed his desire to present his arguments personally. During the last hearing, the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, allowed him to present his case via video call.

On May 14, the Supreme Court agreed to Imran Khan’s request to argue his case himself in the appeals against the NAB law changes. A bench of five Supreme Court justices, led by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, is hearing these appeals. They permitted Imran Khan to present his arguments through a video link.

During the hearing, the Chief Justice presented a letter from Imran Khan expressing his wish to argue the case personally. The justices discussed the importance of personal appearances versus legal representation in such matters.
