Indictment for Imran and Qureshi Set on Feb 6 in May 9 Riot Cases

Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi are scheduled to face indictment on February 6 in connection with the May 9 riot cases.

The announcement came during a hearing presided over by ATC Judge Malik Ijaz at Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail. Imran Khan claimed his arrest on May 9 from the Islamabad High Court premises was illegal, expressing dissatisfaction with the filing of vindictive cases against him.

The police submitted challans related to the May 9 cases, including charges related to the GHQ attack and vandalism of sensitive institutions.

The judicial remand for both PTI leaders was extended until February 6, and the judge approved the challans for further hearing. Copies of the cases are set to be distributed to the accused in the next session.
