InDrive adds electric motorcycles to its Pakistani fleet

On Monday, inDrive announced that it will be introducing electric motorcycles to its fleet in the nation in collaboration with Vlektra, a manufacturer of electric vehicles (EVs).

This marked a significant milestone in the nation’s transportation landscape, driving the country towards a sustainable future,” a press release stated

As a result, InDrive claims to be the first ride-hailing service to incorporate electric vehicles. This action is a step in the direction of encouraging environmental sustainability and lowering emissions.

Roman Ermoshin, director of inDrive’s APAC region, said, “This collaboration between inDrive and Vlektra marks an exciting step forward in our commitment to sustainability and innovation in Pakistan.”

“This partnership represents our deliberate efforts to roll out electric bikes, propelling a big change toward a cleaner, more environmentally conscious future in the area.”

Vlektra’s partnership with inDrive heralds a pioneering move in Pakistan’s ride-hailing landscape, introducing electric vehicles for sustainable mobility,” said Fatiq Bin Khursheed, co-founder of Vlektra, echoing this sentiment.

He went on to say that promoting environmentally friendly transportation and lowering emissions were the main goals of this partnership.

Furthermore, InDrive introduced a competition with the goal of raising awareness of EVs and environmental sustainability. The top-performing drivers in the competition will receive free electric bikes.

A Pakistani startup called Vlektra offers sustainable and environmentally friendly electric vehicle solutions. “Dedicated to lowering Pakistan’s carbon footprint and promoting sustainable mobility through its innovative EV technology,” Vlektra was founded in 2021. The company sells a selection of electric scooters and bikes that are intended for daily use.
