LONDON: Jemima Goldsmith, the former wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, has revealed that she had to block emails from Pakistan due to ongoing cyber harassment.
In a statement posted on her Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) accounts on Friday, Goldsmith blamed the harassment on opponents of her ex-husband’s party, PTI.
“To friends in Pakistan trying to contact me, I’ve had to block all emails from Pakistan due to a cyber harassment operation, likely orchestrated by PTI’s desperate opponents,” Goldsmith wrote in her post on X.

I have had to block all emails from Pakistan thanks to a cyber harassment operation, no doubt instigated by PTI’s desperate opponents. Obviously as Twitter/ X is now banned in Pakistan by said desperate opponents,…
She humorously noted that since X is banned in Pakistan by these same opponents, only those using VPNs would see her message.
Reflecting on the situation, Goldsmith commented, “Pakistani politics, the gift that keeps on giving even after leaving the country 20 years ago.” This remark alludes to the persistent social media campaigns against her, stemming from her past relationship with Imran Khan. While many on social media admire Goldsmith, critics of her ex-husband have often targeted her with misogynistic and racist comments.
During former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s self-imposed exile in London from 2019 to 2023, PML-N supporters held protests outside the Surrey home of Goldsmith’s mother. Some reports suggested that protesters even threatened to break into the residence if she did not appear outside.
PML-N supporters claimed these actions were in retaliation for PTI’s frequent protests outside Avenfield House, where Nawaz Sharif was staying.
Jemima Goldsmith lived in Pakistan from 1995 to 2004 during her marriage to Imran Khan. The couple has two sons, Sulaiman and Kasim.
