Karen, who is married to Earl Spencer, recently shared a special memory about Princess Diana’s final resting place at Althorp Estate.
Diana, the late Princess of Wales, is buried on a private island in the middle of Oval Lake, which is part of the Northampton estate where she spent her childhood.
While there is a public memorial for people to pay their respects, Diana’s grave is on a secluded island, and only family members can access it.
Countess Spencer, who married Diana’s brother Charles in 2011, recently posted a picture of Oval Lake on her Instagram with the caption, ‘The Oval in the mist at dusk…’
Karen, a former Canadian model, lives with her husband Charles and their 11-year-old daughter Lady Charlotte at the Althorp estate.
The estate is home to Diana’s grave, situated on the private island in Oval Lake. Although the island itself is not visible in the photo, the trees surrounding the lake are reflected in the clear and calm water.
Earl Spencer mentioned in an interview with People magazine that he wanted his nephews, Prince William and Prince Harry, to have a private place to visit their late mother.
He emphasized that Althorp Estate is tranquil, and the princes can come and go whenever they wish, which brings him comfort.
