KP CM Gandapur Reconnects with PTI Leaders Amid Arrest Rumors

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was initially unreachable late Monday, sparking rumors of his arrest following the recent PTI rally in Sangjani.

PTI officials reported that Gandapur was missing for several hours but reconnected with party leaders after his disappearance. He had traveled from Islamabad to Peshawar and is scheduled for meetings in the provincial capital today. Initial concerns about his arrest were clarified by PTI leader Barrister Saif, who attributed the communication issues to a jammer encountered during Gandapur’s travel.

PTI leader Shahid Khattak confirmed that Gandapur is back in Peshawar. He also reported the detention of other PTI members, including Sheikh Waqas, Zain Qureshi, Amir Dogar, and Syed Shah Ahad. Several lawmakers, such as Latif Chitrali, Yousuf Khattak, and Hamed Raza, are also in custody.

Gandapur faces charges at Islamabad’s Sangjani Police Station for allegedly detaining a district administration officer and ignoring a notice about the rally’s deadline.

Earlier, top PTI leaders, including Chairman Barrister Gohar, Sher Afzal Marwat, and Shoaib Shaheen, were arrested. Omar Ayub and Zartaj Gul evaded arrest.
