Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur mentioned that the government of KPK is thinking about operating a train in Peshawar to help with the city’s traffic problems.
He explained that they are discussing this train project with a private company, and it would be based on a model called built operate and transfer (BOT).
Improving Peshawar’s development is a top priority for the government, he emphasized. He assured that they will take effective steps to develop the city according to a carefully planned strategy.
During a meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leaders from Peshawar, Mr. Gandapur highlighted the serious issue of sewerage in the city. He proposed a solution by planning to lay all sewerage pipes underground to permanently address the problem.
To enhance public services, the government aims to appoint competent individuals based on merit in all autonomous institutions. Additionally, they plan to improve the local government system to resolve people’s issues more effectively at the local level.
Mr. Gandapur expressed his vision of making Peshawar a city for everyone in the province and pledged to restore its beauty by transforming it into a city of flowers once again. He also mentioned the plan to switch streetlights in Peshawar to solar energy.
The meeting was attended by various government officials, including MNAs and MPAs, who discussed the city’s main issues such as traffic congestion, poor infrastructure, water shortage, faulty sewerage systems, and security concerns faced by residents.
