Mohsin Naqvi, appointed as the Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, has been named the new Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has appointed Mohsin Naqvi, the current interim Chief Minister of Punjab, as the Chairman of the Management Committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Mohsin Naqvi has also been nominated for a position in the PCB’s governing body, following the acceptance of Zaka Ashraf’s resignation from the government body and the head of the management committee.

A formal notification regarding this appointment is pending. Reports suggest that elections for the position of PCB Chairman will take place within the next two weeks.

Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed the development, expressing his commitment to steering national cricket in the right direction. Previously, Zaka Ashraf resigned from the PCB Management Committee and the Board of Governors (BoG), with his resignation sent to the caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar. He assumed the role on July 6, 2023, succeeding Najam Sethi as the head of the Management Committee.
