In August 2024, motorcycle and three-wheeler sales in Pakistan surged by 18.02%, reaching 104,234 units compared to 88,318 units in August 2023, according to the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA).
Sales also jumped by 22.64% from July 2024, when 84,993 units were sold. For the first two months of FY25 (July and August), a total of 189,227 units were sold, marking a 16.87% increase from 161,906 units during the same period last year.
Production saw a significant rise as well, with 107,154 units manufactured in August 2024, up 29.69% from 82,620 units in August 2023. Compared to July 2024, production increased by 25.3%, from 85,516 units.
The broader automotive industry also showed improvement in August 2024, with total auto sales climbing 15% year-on-year (YoY) to 8,699 units. However, compared to July 2024, sales were relatively flat, showing only a 1% increase. This growth reflects the sector’s recovery from challenges faced last year, including restrictions on letters of credit and low demand.
