ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together on effectively using data both within Pakistan and internationally.
The MoU was signed at the Pakistan-China Friendship Center. NADRA also showcased its Mobile Registration Vans, which provide registration services in remote areas through 231 vans across the country.
NADRA introduced self-service KIOSKs, allowing citizens to renew lost or expired ID cards without assistance. Additionally, the Rugged Enrollment Kits, portable devices designed for difficult-to-reach areas, were presented. Currently, 300 of these kits are being used in Somalia, with plans to introduce them in Pakistan soon.
NADRA’s stall was a highlight of the event, drawing significant interest at the National Data Fest 2024. During the event, Chairman NADRA invited Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhry to visit the stall, where he shared details about NADRA’s various e-governance and registration projects in Pakistan and abroad. The minister praised NADRA’s progress.
The Data Fest 2024 provides a platform for institutions and individuals to discuss the importance of data in decision-making and problem-solving.
