Nine Arrested in Connection with Karachi Airport Blast

Content: Nine individuals, including one woman, have been arrested in connection with the recent blast near Karachi airport that resulted in the deaths of three people, including two Chinese nationals.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident, believed to be a suicide attack linked to the banned Majeed Brigade. The government has expressed its commitment to protecting Chinese citizens in Pakistan, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasizing the need for their safety.

As part of the investigation, officials have completed geo-fencing of the blast site and sent evidence for forensic analysis. They are also reviewing call data records for six suspicious mobile numbers related to the incident. Interestingly, the attacker did not have a cellphone at the time of the blast.

Authorities have tracked the route of the vehicle used in the attack, which was registered under the name Shah Fahd from Noshki, Balochistan. Investigators noted that the attacker had previously passed through the airport, raising questions about security protocols.

Additionally, a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) has been suspended in connection with the investigation. The details of 16 vehicles damaged in the explosion have also been documented, and the crime scene is set to be cleared soon.
