QUETTA: At least 19 people, including nine children, have lost their lives in Balochistan due to the ongoing monsoon rains, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), as reported by ARY News on Tuesday.

The PDMA also reported that 11 people, including 10 children, have been injured as a result of the devastating rainfall in the province.

Since the rains began on July 1, they have caused widespread damage across Balochistan. The PDMA’s report highlighted that 126 houses were completely destroyed, while 433 homes suffered partial damage. Additionally, crops over 97 acres have been ruined, and 31 kilometers of roads, along with a health unit, have been severely affected.

The heavy rains and resulting flash floods have left 3,031 people homeless. The report also noted that six bridges in various districts have been partially damaged, and 131 animals have died due to lightning strikes during the storms.
