Pakistan Holds Key Role in Muslim World, Says Imam of Masjid-e-Nabawi

RAWALPINDI: On Friday, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir met with Dr. Salah bin Mohammad Al-Budair, the Imam of Masjid-e-Nabawi.

According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Imam Al-Budair acknowledged Pakistan’s significant role in the Muslim world, praising the country’s efforts in promoting peace and stability in the region.

During the meeting, both COAS Munir and Imam Al-Budair expressed their satisfaction with the strong ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, discussing various matters of mutual interest. The army chief welcomed the Imam’s visit to Pakistan, describing it as an honor for the nation.

At the end of their discussion, Imam Al-Budair offered prayers for the peace, stability, and unity of the Muslim Ummah, according to the military’s media wing.

Earlier in the day, Imam Al-Budair recited verses from the Holy Quran at the start of a National Assembly session at the Parliament House in Islamabad. Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, welcomed the Imam, expressing that his visit is a source of pride and spiritual guidance for Pakistan. He also emphasized the deep connection that Muslims worldwide have with Masjid-e-Nabawi.
