The joint military exercise between Pakistan and Russia, Druzhba-VII, has officially started at the National Counter-Terrorism Centre in Pabbi, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
This is the seventh bilateral exercise focused on counter-terrorism between the armies of both countries. The two-week-long exercise, which began on October 13, involves Pakistan Army’s Light Commando Troops and the Russian military contingent.
The opening ceremony was graced by the Commandant of the National Counter-Terrorism Centre as the chief guest. The exercise aims to strengthen professional skills through joint training while enhancing military relations between the two nations.
Both sides are eager to share expertise and learn from each other’s experience during the exercise.
In related news, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently expressed Pakistan’s interest in expanding trade, economic, energy, and security ties with Russia during a meeting with Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk.
The Russian deputy prime minister affirmed Russia’s commitment to further deepening its relations with Pakistan.
