ISLAMABAD – Russia will supply Pakistan with modern agricultural machinery to improve crop yields and increase agricultural productivity. This was confirmed by Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Aleksei Gruzdev, during his meeting with Pakistan’s Minister for Industries, Production, and National Food Security, Rana Tanveer Hussain.
During the meeting, both officials stressed the importance of maintaining a balanced trade relationship between the two countries. Rana Tanveer highlighted the need for advanced machinery to boost Pakistan’s agricultural sector and assured that the government would provide all necessary support to Russian investors.
In addition, Pakistan and Russia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen economic and trade cooperation. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Alexei Overchuk.
An MoU was also signed between the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) and the Saint Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange (SPIMEX) to boost cooperation between the two exchanges. Pakistan further announced its participation in the creation of an international transport corridor involving several countries, including Russia and Central Asia.
