Pakistan to Send Urgent Relief Aid to Gaza and Lebanon

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered the immediate dispatch of two planeloads of relief supplies to Gaza and Lebanon. The aid will be sent via both land and air routes to ensure faster delivery.

During a meeting to review relief efforts, the prime minister emphasized the need for better coordination with Pakistan’s ambassadors in Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt to ensure that the supplies reach those in need. He urged for swift action to get aid to the affected people as soon as possible.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also encouraged citizens and expatriates to donate generously to the PM Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon (Account No. IBAN: PK11SBPD000000111111429). He instructed the relevant authorities to launch an awareness campaign about the relief fund.

The briefing mentioned that the aid package includes winter tents, clothes, blankets, medicines, and food for those suffering in Gaza and Lebanon due to the ongoing Israeli attacks and siege. It was noted that the blockade is making it difficult to get aid into the affected areas.

The government has also committed to assisting NGOs that want to send aid to Gaza and Lebanon.

Federal ministers, state officials, and representatives from the National Disaster Management Authority attended the meeting to discuss the relief plans.
