Pakistan wins approval for meat export to China

Islamabad – The Organic Meat Company Limited (TOMCL) has achieved a significant milestone, proudly declaring itself as the first South Asian company to export Cooked/Heat Treated Frozen Beef meat products to China. This noteworthy accomplishment was shared in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday.

China holds a prominent position as the leading global meat importer, with a substantial intake of approximately 3.10 million metric tonnes of beef and mutton in the year 2022. TOMCL’s announcement confirmed its special status as one of only two companies authorized to export cooked beef meat products to China from South Asia.

This achievement is not only a moment of triumph for TOMCL but also opens up new opportunities to enhance exports to mainland China. The company is optimistic about the future, anticipating a considerable increase in both export volumes and revenues.

In preparation for this exciting venture, TOMCL’s Board of Directors (BoD) previously approved an ambitious expansion plan for production facilities, allocating a noteworthy investment of Rs600 million. This strategic decision showcases TOMCL’s commitment to meeting the rising demand for its high-quality organic meat products in the Chinese market. The company is poised for growth and looks forward to contributing to the thriving trade relationship between South Asia and China.
