The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reinforced its No Objection Certificate (NOC) policy after Pakistan’s early exit from the T20 World Cup.
This policy limits centrally and domestically contracted players to participating in only two overseas leagues annually to manage their workload and prioritize national duties.
Due to this policy, Azam Khan and Saim Ayub, retained by Caribbean Premier League (CPL) teams, have had their NOCs withheld. An official emphasized that all players must follow this rule, and the PCB can deny NOC requests based on workload, fitness, or domestic team needs.
Leg-spinner Usama Mir was recently denied a NOC despite having no international or domestic commitments left, highlighting the board’s control over player participation in international leagues. The PCB has warned other cricket boards and franchises not to engage Pakistani players without proper NOCs from the PCB.
