Two people threw soup at the Mona Lisa painting, which is around 500 years old and made by a guy named Leonardo da Vinci. This painting is super famous and lives in a place called the Louvre in Paris.
To keep it safe, they put the Mona Lisa behind a special kind of glass that can stop things from hurting it. This is because, in the past, some not-so-nice people did bad things to the painting. The latest incident involved two women who threw soup on it while talking about wanting better and healthier food. They said something about the farming system being sick.
Lately, there have been protests by farmers in Paris, asking for help with high fuel costs and simpler rules. They even blocked important roads on Friday to make their point.

The Mona Lisa has been behind safety glass since the 1950s because someone damaged it with acid. In 2019, they said they put an even better kind of glass to protect it.
But this isn’t the first time someone messed with art. In 2022, an activist threw cake at the Mona Lisa, saying people should think about the Earth.
And guess what? Another famous painting, Vincent van Gogh’s “Sunflowers,” got hit too. Climate activists threw tomato soup on it at the National Gallery in London. This painting is worth a lot of money, around $81 million! They also glued their hands to the wall, but the protective glass saved the painting from any serious harm.
