As the nation joyously celebrates the 147th birthday of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah today, both the prime minister and president have called upon Pakistanis to embrace the vision set forth by the founder of the nation.
The day began with gun salutes in the federal and provincial capitals, followed by a change of the guard ceremony at Quaid-i-Azam’s mausoleum in Karachi, as reported by Radio Pakistan.
Numerous special programs were organized by various social, political, governmental, and non-governmental organizations to commemorate the birthday of the founder of Pakistan.
President Dr. Arif Alvi, in a message shared today, highlighted Quaid-i-Azam as the great benefactor of the nation, whose tireless efforts led to the creation of a separate homeland for Muslims in the subcontinent, as stated by state-run Radio Pakistan.
The president emphasized the importance of following the vision and guiding principles of the Father of the Nation in the present circumstances. He called for unity, democratic values, hope, justice, and the promotion of Islamic ideals and moral values.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar expressed that Quaid’s principles of “unity, faith, and discipline” should serve as guiding principles for the entire nation, according to Radio Pakistan. The premier admired Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s personality as a beacon of guidance due to his unmatched character and extraordinary leadership qualities.
He acknowledged the Quaid’s unwavering resolve and undeterred will, which infused the Muslims with determination and courage to face challenges in their struggle and strive towards achieving their great goal.
In a separate statement, former prime minister and PML-N leader Shehbaz Sharif reflected on the country’s journey, noting that, despite 76 years passing, Pakistan is still working towards realizing the vision envisioned by the Quaid.
He expressed determination to fulfill Quaid’s dream of making Pakistan a developed country through hard work and honesty in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Additionally, Shehbaz extended birthday wishes to his brother and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, who coincidentally shares his birthday with Quaid-i-Azam.
