Prime Minister Shehbaz has set up a team to investigate a problem with importing wheat.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formed a committee to investigate issues related to wheat import in the country.

In a recent meeting chaired by the prime minister, the status of wheat reserves was reviewed. The prime minister highlighted the excellent wheat harvest this year and assured that there would be no delays in wheat procurement. He emphasized the importance of promptly securing the required wheat stocks and rewarding farmers for their hard work.

The prime minister mentioned that decisions on wheat pricing last year were made after consulting the Ministry of National Food Security, despite a good harvest. The inquiry committee on wheat import will be headed by the Secretary of the Cabinet Division. Key officials including federal ministers and senior officials attended this significant meeting.

Additionally, the Additional Secretary in charge of Food was removed from their position following the prime minister’s directives regarding wheat procurement and fertilizer purchasing.
