Rauf Hassan, the spokesperson for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), welcomed the Islamabad High Court’s decision to suspend Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi’s sentence in the Toshakhana case.
He hoped for more positive developments for Imran Khan. Hassan noted that while the sentence has been suspended temporarily, it has not been overturned completely. He criticized the Toshakhana case against Imran Khan, calling it unreasonable.
Hassan expressed the belief that the chief justice of the Islamabad High Court may have realized the legal and moral difficulties in upholding the punishment in the Toshakhana case. He emphasized that PTI has always respected the courts.
Hassan also objected to the formation of a seven-member bench to address the judges’ letter alleging interference from spy agencies in judicial matters. He demanded a full court and swift action on the judges’ letter.
