ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police arrested PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Monday outside the National Assembly. This follows the earlier arrests of PTI MNA Sher Afzal and PTI leader Shoaib Shaheen in connection with a rally held on September 8.
Barrister Gohar was apprehended shortly after the other arrests. All three arrests are related to alleged violations of laws during the PTI rally. Marwat will be held at Kohsar Police Station.
Further arrests of PTI leaders, including Omar Ayub and Zartaj Gul, are expected as police wait for them to leave the National Assembly. Three FIRs have been filed against PTI leaders for not following the NOC guidelines for the rally.
Police have also sealed off the Red Zone with checkpoints on Margalla Road, only allowing approved vehicles after inspection.
