On Tuesday, PTI leader Omer Ayub shared that the party’s founder, Imran Khan, selected Amir Dogar as the National Assembly speaker and Junaid Khan as the deputy speaker.
The decision came after meetings with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail. Amir Dogar, who previously served as the chief whip in the NA and as the special assistant to the prime minister, won the recent elections from Multan’s NA-149 constituency.
Junaid Khan, nominated for NA deputy speaker, won in the polls from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Malakand district. Omer Ayub highlighted Junaid’s loyalty to PTI amid challenges and expressed confidence in PTI forming governments.
Ayub also announced peaceful protests across the country on March 2, alleging rigging in the Feb 8 elections.
