PTI is encountering a fresh hurdle in its internal leadership selection process.

Pakistan’s Election Commission (ECP) is looking into another complaint about the recent leadership elections held by PTI, the party of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Some people believe the ECP is giving PTI a hard time.

PTI held its internal elections on March 3rd to choose new leaders for the party. They submitted all the required documents to the ECP on March 4th, including details about the new leaders and other records. PTI especially needs approval for these elections because they want the ECP to give them back their special election symbol, which looks like a bat.

This is the third time the ECP has questioned PTI’s internal elections. Back in November 2023, they rejected the elections PTI held in June 2022 and gave them only 20 days to do it again. This was right before the national elections, which made things very difficult for PTI.

PTI doesn’t think the ECP is being fair and believes they’re trying to keep Imran Khan and his party out of the elections.
