‘PTI is willing to talk with the main authority’, Arif Alvi said.

Former president and senior PTI leader Dr. Arif Alvi said on Tuesday that his party is willing to talk with those who have the real power to make decisions.

He said this when asked about the idea that Imran Khan, PTI’s founder who’s currently in jail, might not want to talk with his political opponents to make the country stable.

This comes after the government has been asking PTI to talk and end the political crisis, but PTI hasn’t given a clear answer yet.

Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Alvi also said he’s lost hope in accountability ever happening in Pakistan.

He praised the Islamabad High Court’s decision in a diplomatic cable case, saying it was unnecessary. Alvi, being a former president, said it’s up to the prime minister to decide whether to share certain information with the public.

He criticized the elite class for not supporting accountability. He said accountability has never been a priority in Pakistan, from the time of Ayub Khan until now.

Alvi mentioned that Pakistan suffered a big loss due to the change in government in April 2022. He said this political change has caused uncertainty, which made local businesses invest abroad.
