A police raid was initiated in Jafaria Colony, Lahore, based on information suggesting the presence of PTI leader Hammad Azhar in the area.
However, the PTI leader managed to evade arrest, with his associates causing a commotion upon noticing the police team.
The commotion reportedly provided Azhar the opportunity to escape. Subsequently, two individuals involved in facilitating the escape were apprehended.
A case has been registered against them for aiding the wanted PTI leader’s evasion of arrest. Earlier, on December 10, an anti-terrorism court declared Azhar and others proclaimed offenders in a case related to the May 9 riots.
Furthermore, the government blocked the CNICs of 18 PTI leaders, including Azhar, stating that they would remain blocked until the investigation concludes, and that legal rights would be affected if they did not appear before the ATC.
